What I do

I work as a freelancer for IT companies but also do projects on my own now and then – in co-operation with a designer mostly.

My main competencies are

Creating templates (HTML, CSS) based on screen designs
Javascript development (usually with the framework “jQuery”)
PHP development (with MySQL databases)
Websites based on the CMS „Drupal“
Development with the Ruby framework “Ruby on Rails”

Companies I’ve worked for:

Virtual Identity AG: Hired to support the frontend team in various projects for major clients – development of XHTML templates and CSS stylesheets, JS development using “jQuery”.
kommzept: Frontend development for two projects and a little backend support for one of the projects (PHP and XSLT to display e-books, toc’s, and lists of e-books).
Goldene Generation: Supported this sports marketing and event company as a PHP and JS developer. Built a web-based feature for the fans of a German Bundesliga football club using version 3 of “Google Maps”.
Guido Boyke: Joined Guido’s team to develop a B2B platform based on “Ruby on Rails” and other Rails projects: created templates, CSS and JS features as well as Rails views, but also was involved in the models and controllers.
DKG GmbH: Built the web shop „4600 Dortmund“ using “Magento” – implemented the layout, adjusted the functionality and developed some minor additional features.
chromgruen: Totally reworked frontend of a browser game for students, that had been developed by chromgruen in co-operation with the “Wissenschaftsladen Bonn”; supplied the necessary resources: templates, CSS and quite a lot of Javascript.
blindwerk: Implemented “Google Search” into the website of one of blindwerk’s clients; adjusted the search layout (XSLT, CSS) and devised the PHP code to fetch the search results via socket connection.
Image Transfer GmbH: Frontend development for various projects (XHTML, CSS, and Javascript), PHP development, and some trips into the JSP world; also built XSLT stylesheets for some projects.
Xionet AG: Hired for a projekt based on “Ruby on Rails” – made the stylesheets and JS stuff, created the RoR views, and helped developing the RoR controllers.
Orgarat GmbH: Built XHTML templates along with the CSS stylesheets, did some PHP tasks.

Designers I’ve cooperated with:

1000SISSI: Supported the designers of 1000SISSI: created the technical parts for an architect’s website using the CMS „Drupal“ (7) (built Templates/Theme, Content types, additional PHP logic for custom features)
Posdiena Wrobel Kommunikationsdesign: Developed a PHP-based solution for a client of the two designers to display and handle a bunch of forms via configuration and template files. Also created the templates, CSS and JS features.
Brandstiftung Design: Did the technical tasks for some smaller websites designed by Brandstiftung.
Dirk Hesse: Created small backend solutions or JS features for Dirk now and then, also co-operate with him on projects of our own.
